In a European Union committed to promoting social cohesion and equality, the evolving dynamics of migration call for innovative solutions in care provision. At the heart of this conversation is Diversity-Sensitive Care for Older People with Migrant Background and their Families, a project aligned with the EU’s core principles of inclusivity and solidarity, as outlined in the European Pillar of Social Rights.
Older people with migrant background represent a crucial intersection of cultural heritage and unique care needs. As migration continues to enrich our societies, there is a pressing need to ensure care strategies address diverse needs while maintaining dignity and equity. Education plays a crucial role in equipping professionals with the skills to provide culturally sensitive and high-quality care, ensuring no one is left behind. This event will explore how EU migration, care, and education policy can work together to address these needs while fostering more inclusive and equitable care practices. By equipping professionals with the tools to deliver diversity sensitive care, we can strengthen social resilience and uphold the EU’s commitment to reducing inequalities.
This event in English language will facilitate policy dialogue to share insights, foster collaboration, and highlight policy recommendations for improving social and health care services for older persons with migrant background in Europe.

In our final conference, research teams will share their findings from the fieldwork with key stakeholders (including social partners, public institutions, and civil society) and researchers in the field. The conference aims to provide an open discussion forum in which transnational dialogue in each sector could be shared, generating invaluable exchanges between policy, society, and research.
