Poverty and Inequality

The European Centre offers more than 15 years of experience in comparative research on poverty, income inequality as well as non-monetary aspects of well-being. We have specialised knowledge of poverty and income dynamics, such as material deprivation, housing, social relations, access to social protection, employment and health and long-term care. Our work thus reflects the multidimensional aspects of poverty. We contributed to improve monitoring of living standards and poverty eradication policies across Europe with several EU, international and national projects.

What we offer:

  • Comparative research on poverty, income inequality as well as non-monetary aspects of well-being.
  • Development and analysis of indicators and composite measures on various aspects of poverty.
  • Evaluation of social protection systems and monitoring outcomes for different social groups.
  • Analysis of take-up of social assistance and minimum income support schemes.
  • Impact of tax-benefit systems on poverty and income distribution.

Our strengths:

  • Advanced quantitative and econometric methods.
  • Science-policy interface.
  • Large network with specific expert pool.
