DESCRIPTION

Informal carers care for family members or friends due to illness, disability or old age. Combining informal care with paid employment can constitute a challenge for informal carers.

This report analyses the situation of informal carers and employment in Upper Austria. Based on different surveys, the report estimates the number of informal carers in employment in Upper Austria and describes the challenges they face. It also presents results from interviews with informal carers on their experiences with formal care services, employment and existing policy measures that aim to alleviate the burden of informal carers in employment. Based on these findings, the report also discusses possible future support measures.

This report is written in German.
