49th General Assembly Meeting: From research evidence to policy-making - How to build bridges in a world without pillars?

DATE

12/10/2023

Angela Me, Acting Chair of the Board of Directors, and Andreas Schaller from the Austrian Ministry of Social Affairs, Health, Care and Consumer Protection opened the 49th General Assembly Meeting (GAM) of the European Centre on 10 October at the UN Vienna. On 10 and 11 October 2023 researchers presented their findings and exchanged experiences with delegates about opportunities of linking research and evidence-based policy-making, by upscaling results from pilot projects, and by mutual learning. This year’s activities were driven by attempts to promote evidence-based dialogue, mutual learning and working in partnership. About 40 participants including our Board Members, National Liaison Officials (NLOs) and all other stakeholders gave inputs and shared experiences from their different perspectives. The European Centre researchers responded to the question ‘How to build bridges in a world without pillars?’ with results of their project work.
