DESCRIPTION

Posted work is a marginal but growing phenomenon in Italy. The country is a net sender even though incoming posted workers are on the rise. Construction is the third receiving sector and its recent boom could favour further fluxes of workers. Monitoring agencies collect a great amount of data on posted workers but more effective sharing mechanisms could be put in place. The authors argue that, by timely sharing of the data they collect, the Posting Observatory and the Construction Workers’ Fund provincial offices could effectively support labour inspectors and social partners to better guarantee the enactment of labour standards in the sector.
