Housing is becoming increasingly difficult to afford for many people. A look at Upper Austria's net rents shows that they have increased by almost 30 percent on average since 2010. Despite the rising housing costs, the province of Upper Austria is saving on housing subsidies at the expense of those affected. In addition, about 30 percent of the households that would be entitled to housing assistance do not apply.
