This Policy Brief looks at drug treatment and rehabilitation services for young drug users in criminal justice systems. Findings from the project “EPPIC – Exchanging Prevention Practices on Polydrug Use among Youth in Criminal Justice Systems” (co-funded by the 3rd EU Health Programme) are presented in regard to the legal framework of diversion. The main question addressed by the policy brief is: How do health and social care services respond to individual risk factors and particular need dispositions of young criminal justice clients?
