The new Horizon Europe project SPARK4B+ had its kick-off meeting on 8-10 September in Coventry (United Kingdom). It marked the official start of the consortium’s joint work, bringing all 17 partner organisations together to align on governance structures, research methodologies and communication activities for the four years ahead.
SPARK4B+ (Strengthening Pathways for Alternative socio-economic paradigms and governance frameworks and Response-able Knowledge and action for Biodiversity-Positive and just futures) is coordinated by Coventry University through its Centre for Agroecology, Water and Resilience (CAWR) and co-coordinated by GreenFormation (Hungary). The wider consortium brings together universities, research institutes, SMEs, civil-society organisations and policy actors from nine countries: Austria, Colombia, France, Germany, Hungary, Norway, Spain, Sweden and the UK.
SPARK4B+ aims to develop and demonstrate credible alternatives to the growth-oriented paradigm that underlines interconnected challenges of biodiversity loss, climate change and inequality, turning them into practical, evidence-based pathways for policymakers, businesses and communities to advance systemic change.
