The European Centre will support the implementation of the ongoing reform of the long-term care (LTC) system in Slovenia. The project is funded by the European Commission (Technical Support Instrument, SG Reform) and will be carried out in close cooperation with the Ministry of Solidarity-Based Future as well as Slovenian and international experts to work towards Slovenia’s adherence to key European strategies — namely principle 18 of the European Pillar of Social Rights, which affirms the right to affordable high-quality LTC, and the related European Care Strategy.
Relevant stakeholders in Slovenia will be involved to address current challenges in critical areas such as the needs assessment procedure as well as the delivery of equitable and integrated service provision, also in currently underserved regions. The project will run for two years, its outcomes and deliverables will be designed as potential blueprints for the future development of LTC delivery within Slovenia, but also in other Member States with similar care regimes.
