The first issue of our new publication format ‘research notes’ presents research on the working conditions of food delivery riders working for online platforms in Austria. Novel survey data shows that most riders enjoy their work. However, exposure to dangerous situations in traffic and harassment at work is widespread and warrants action. The research was financed by the ‘Digitalisierungsfonds Arbeit 4.0’ of the Chamber of Labour Vienna.
