The Ministry of Labour and Social Affairs of the Republic of Armenia and the European Centre hosted an online policy review “Monitoring and Evaluation (M&E) for Social Protection Programmes”, on 12-13 December 2022. The representation of the Federal Ministry of Social Affairs, Health, Care and Consumer Protection of Austria opened the Armenian Policy Review by giving an overview of M&E systems and the increasing importance and necessity for evaluating social policies. Representatives from Ministries from Armenia, Ireland, Sweden, Switzerland and Ukraine presented their national architectures for M&E in social protection. Along with representatives from other Bridge Building countries, namely North Macedonia, Moldova, and Albania, the participants of the policy review discussed how national M&E systems in social protection (with a focus on child protection and population policies) can be further strengthened. The host and participating countries additionally shared practical information about their staff-, skills-, data-, methods-, and cooperation-related characteristics at the national level.
