Our colleague Sonila Danaj gave an input during the online event ‘Is the European Union becoming the new Gulf region?’ organised by the European Federation of Building and Woodworkers (EFBWW) and Building and Woodworker’s International (BWI) on 2 June 2021. She spoke about the presence of immigrant labour and the cross-border labour mobility of third country national workers between non-EU and EU and within the EU labour market and discussed the role of labour market intermediaries in producing vulnerabilities for these workers. The event brought together union officials and public authorities at the international, EU and national level, as well as researchers.
