Policy brief: Alcohol consumption – A grossly underestimated factor for public health and social welfare

The policy brief on alcohol comsumption is now available. This policy brief summarises the current state of scientific knowledge about the problems caused by alcohol consumption and about ways and means to reduce these. The brief begins with a short description of the size and the extent of socio-economic and health-related problems, then follow a review of the opportunities to reduce these as well as an analysis of the difficulties in implementing harm reduction policies.
