In context with the project AGORA, the research team at the European Centre together with the FH St. Pölten and the FH Campus Wien organized a one-day international workshop. The workshop attracted more than 100 participants from target organisations such as the police, mobile social work, social science, administration and policy.
In the morning, International guest speakers from:
highlighted best practice examples of sustainable structures of collaboration between the police, (mobile) social work and other stakeholders in the public sphere.
Four working groups continued in the afternoon and discussed the relevance of collaboration in urban and rural areas of Austria, as well as strategies to enhance it.
The workshop was concluded by a plenary discussion on changes of goals and strategies and the role of joint training modules for the police and social work.
The presentations and reports on the discussions of the working groups are available here.
The results of the workshop feed into the project 'AGORA', which aims at contributing to the establishment of sustainable structures of collaboration. They complement the promising and interesting results of the first fieldwork phase.
