This short article published in the Austrian stakeholder magazine ‘Lebenswelt Heim’ presents the movement of neighbourhood cooperatives in the Netherlands that try to boost the positive energy emerging when citizens are helping each other to realize their aims by a shared utilization of resources (‘Community Power’), in particular with respect to challenges in community care. What does this movement mean for the future of the long-term care system in the Netherlands, and what could Austria or other countries learn from these tendencies?
