Oxana Sinyavskaya
Oxana Sinyavskaya, Cand. of Sciences in Economics, is a Deputy Director of the Independent Institute for Social Policy (www.socpol.ru), a Russian economic think-tank based in Moscow (Russia). She is also a Research Fellow at the Maastricht Graduate School of Governance. Her dissertation was about economic consequences of possible increasing retirement age in Russia. From 1996 she is involved in economic research related to the pension reform in Russia, and worked as a consultant for Russian government on these issues. From 2002 she is a Program Director of Russian Generations and Gender Survey – a part of the international Generations and Gender Program (www.unece.org/pau/ggp/Welcome.html). Her current research interests are in the fields of social demography and social policy analysis, including analysis of pension reforms, social and economic consequences of ageing, retirement behavior, reconciliation of work and family life, family and employment policies.
